All Rotarians are invited to Join Green Steps on zoom Tuesday, September 28 at 6:30 for a short meeting to plan service projects for our Rotary E-Club of Central Texas. We will discuss our next Green Step and a note from DG Beverly on Pollination.

This year marks the first year the Rotary Foundation is funding projects connected to Environmental Sustainability. We are sure you have given thought to how your district can participate in this important 7th Area Focus. We would like to describe a simple project (framework) to help Rotary be part of the solution to a global environmental issue.
As you know, humans and life on Earth depend on the free services of pollinators for survival. More than 85% of the planet’s plants require pollination by animals. However, since the 1970s insect pollinators have declined by more than 40%. This is a global environmental issue.
We present to you a free and simple7th Area of Focus project for you to consider adopting and sharing with your members. This 7th Area of Focus project is called Operation Pollination (https://operationpollination.net). This project was designed to help Rotary be part of the solution to pollinator decline.
Our Purpose. Operation Pollination recognizes the importance of pollinator habitat both restored and maintained on public and private lands. Through collaboration and outreach, an interconnected mosaic of pollinator habitat interspersed between public and private land will be developed to stabilize and/or increase populations of pollinator species throughout your project area.
