SAM HADDAD
Sam Haddad is an attorney whose practice includes various areas of immigration law: family immigration, employment-based immigration, removal and deportation and worksite enforcement. He is a former member of Rotary Club of Austin and past President of West Austin Rotary Club, and current member of Rotary E-Club of Central Texas.
Sam is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas and American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), as well as the former Chair of Austin’s AILA section, and served on the State Bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) committee. He is licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court, and admitted to practice in state and federal court, including the U.S. District Court (Western District, Texas), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits.
Sam attended the University of Texas at Austin for both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, and he obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law. Prior to establishing his own private practice, Sam served as an Assistant Attorney General and Assistant General Counsel for the State of Texas.
Sam makes it part of his practice to volunteer with immigration related organizations such as American Gateways and U.T.’s University Leadership Initiative. He is a regular presenter at immigration information sessions for students, faculty and staff at Austin Community College and he contributes pro bono services to community organizations, such as the Settlement Home for Children, Heart Gift of Austin, and Military Assistance Program (MAP). Sam supports the Austin Symphony and local immigrant, community and park projects.
Sam’s wife, Michelle, is a native Texan, and a former school teacher in Austin and Round Rock. Michelle and Sam have three daughters, Ariana, Susannah, and Isabella, who were born and raised in Austin, Texas. Outside of work and volunteering, Sam enjoys traveling, reading and spending time outdoors, hiking and cycling.

Rotary E Club of Central Texas grows, changes and makes a difference for good in the world!
June 9, 2015 marks 8 years since Rotary E-Club of Central Texas was created. The club began as a flexible club for Rotarians in central Texas; as time has gone by, we have become a different version of an e club with members all over Texas, and Michigan, Rhode Island, Virginia, Florida and part time in Minnesota and New Mexico. It is challenging and exciting to see how we can learn and work together to do some mighty great things to make a true impact in our various communities and in the world. Our recently approved global grant is a real joy; only four clubs in our district are doing global grants and we are one of them. Only two clubs in the district are sponsoring Rotary Exchange Students and we are one of them.

Rotary E-Club will celebrate the end of this Rotary year with a dinner at Casa Chapala, Burnet and 183 on June 24 at 6 p.m. Plans are for in person and via zoom. . Our Global Grant was approved and funds are being gathered toward the $125,000 overall grant. The grant is to build an oxygen refilling station in rural Liberia and literally this will save lives and oxygen will be provided to cover 78 rural clinics and hospitals. Many have worked hard long hours on this. You can personally help by donations to our club foundation at www.roaryeclubcentex.org and go to the donate button. Any gift no matter how small or large will help us bring the project to life! Thank you.
