President's Message
A New Rotary Year: Creating Lasting Impact Together

Fellow Rotarians

As we welcome the 2026–2027 Rotary year, I am truly honored and excited to serve as President of the Rotary E-Club of Central Texas. It is a privilege to lead such a dedicated and passionate group of Rotarians who share a common commitment to Service Above Self.

I am especially grateful to serve alongside an amazing Board of Directors whose experience, creativity, and dedication will help guide our club throughout the year. Together, we are committed to building on our club's successes while embracing new opportunities to serve, connect, and grow.

This year's Rotary International theme, Create Lasting Impact, reminds us that every act of service—whether in our local communities or across the globe—has the power to change lives for generations to come. As an E-Club, we are uniquely positioned to collaborate with members and partners around the world, extending our reach far beyond geographical boundaries.

Throughout this Rotary year, our club will continue to support Rotary International's Seven Areas of Focus:

  • Promoting Peace

  • Disease Prevention and Treatment

  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene

  • Maternal and Child Health

  • Basic Education and Literacy

  • Community Economic Development

  • Supporting the Environment

As we begin this new year together, I encourage each member to become actively involved, share your ideas, invite others to experience Rotary, and continue demonstrating the compassion and generosity that define our organization. Every volunteer hour, every project, and every connection we make strengthens our ability to create lasting impact.

Together, we will continue making a meaningful difference with members currently representing nine different states, our E-Club demonstrates that Rotary service knows no boundaries.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Blanca Swayzer
President, 2026–2027

Stories
Thank You, President Juanita Lira, for an Extraordinary Rotary Year

At our June meeting, we had the privilege of hearing from our 2025–26 E‑Club President, Juanita Lira, as she shared the remarkable accomplishments of our Rotary year. Her presentation captured the heart of who we are as a club: a friendly, flexible, fun‑loving Rotary family committed to service.

This year was defined by action, compassion, and meaningful impact across all seven areas of Rotary focus. Under Juanita’s leadership, our club not only met its major goals — engaging members in service, promoting environmental stewardship, and supporting The Rotary Foundation — we exceeded them.

Juanita’s leadership brought warmth, organization, and inspiration to every project. Her presentation reminded us that Rotary is not just service — it is connection, compassion, and community. As she beautifully states:

“Thank you E‑Club Rotarians for all these accomplishments! Rotary is Service!”

Juanita, thank you for guiding our club through a year filled with purpose and impact. Your dedication has strengthened our club, uplifted our communities, and honored the spirit of Rotary.

We are grateful for your leadership, your heart for service, and the legacy you leave as Immediate Past President.

Thank you for an extraordinary Rotary year.

2025-26 International Service Award

Congratulations to Rotarian Madea Badio, recipient of the 2025–26 International Service Award, honoring her outstanding leadership as Facilitator of the E‑Club’s Global Grant. Through her guidance, the grant funded an oxygen regeneration plant serving 77 hospitals and clinics across Liberia. Her partnership with our host club, the Rotary Club of Sinkor, Liberia, is directly saving lives and strengthening healthcare for countless families.

Jeff Coleman Installed as 2026-2027 District Governor

Jeff's theme for District 5870 this Rotary year is Ignite Impact.

“We ignite impact when we invest in our members, strengthen our clubs, serve our communities, support The Rotary Foundation, and develop future leaders. The result is the we Create Lasting Impact that changes lives - our own, our communities, and people around the world.”

Congratulations, Jeff, on your installation as District 5870's 2026-2027 District Governor.

News
July is Maternal Child Health Month

Rotary International designates July as Maternal and Child Health Month. During this time, we highlight projects that reduce infant mortality, improve prenatal care, and expand access to essential medical services to help mothers and children thrive.

Rotary members and clubs worldwide dedicate resources and energy to the Improving Maternal and Child Health cause, which is one of Rotary's primary areas of focus. Key initiatives and goals include:
  • Saving Lives: Millions of children die annually from preventable conditions like malnutrition, poor sanitation, and lack of healthcare. Rotary works to lower this rate through preventative health measures.
  • Healthcare Access: Clubs support mobile clinics, maternal health training, and birth centers to ensure mothers have access to safe pregnancies and healthy deliveries.
  • Immunization Programs: Rotary partners with local systems to deliver vital vaccines and antibiotics to vulnerable babies and children in remote areas.
  • Community Education: Programs are designed to empower local health systems through the education of community health workers, teaching essential nutrition, and promoting family planning.
